Corporate Games

The use of games in the corporate environment represents one of the fastest growing sectors of the serious games industry.

IBM estimates that at least 20 – 25% of the Global Fortune 500 will use serious games for training, sales and marketing by mid 2012.

Companies like IBM, CISCO and other technically savvy companies already use simulations and games to motivate staff to learn specific job-related skills, learn about company policies and other internal knowledge-related topics where learning has been boring and retention low.

Games also can be used to improve employee satisfaction and recruit new employees. Young, media-savvy and leisure time game-playing employees quickly get on board, finding it natural to use games to grasp and retain sales, technical, and management information and skills.

Games, which demonstrate to the player how the wrong decision causes failure of task but motivate the player to try again, provide important learning and encourage critical thinking.

The Serious Games Association is undertaking to compile a list of games developed by or for companies to be shared with the community.  If you have a created a sim or game for the corporate space, please click here and share the information with us.
